I ee two kind of preure working on college tudent today: economic preure, parental preure. It i eay to look around for rebel to blame the college for charging too much money, the parent for puhing them too far. But there are no rebel, only victim.
The preure i heavy on tudent who jut want to graduate and get a job. If I were an employer I would rather employ graduate who have thi range and curioity than thoe who narrowly purued afe ubject and high grade. I know incalculable tudent whoe inquiring mind cheer me. I like to hear the play of their idea. I dont know if they are getting A or C, and I dont care. I alo like them a people. The country need them, and they will find atifying job. I tell them to relax, but they cant.
Nor can I blame them. They live in a brutal economy. Today it i not unuual for a tudent, even if he work part time at college and full time during the ummer, to increae to 5, 000 in loan after graduation.Encouraged at commencement to go forth into the world, he i already behind a he goe forth. How could he not feel under preure throughout college to prepare for thi day of reckoning?
