Lecture and Dicuion There i a heated debate over the role of lecture and dicuion in the claroom. Some people believe that lecture can help tudent learn more quickly. In contrat, other hold that dicuion can timulate tudent to learn by themelve.
Thoe who hold the firt opinion ugget that tudent attend more lecture. In their view, by giving lecture teacher help tudent mater the knowledge theyve accumulated over year of tudy and reearch. However, other think that in a dicuion, the teacher uually guide the tudent intead of dominating them. They argue that to get involved in a dicuion, tudent have to develop their ability to analyze problem independently.
In my opinion, I tand on the ide of neither idea. Firt of all, either method ha it diadvantage. Furthermore, each tudent ha hi or her preference. Thirdly, lecture ate preferable to dicuion in the teaching of cience ubject, and on the contrary, dicuion are preferable to lecture in tudying the humanitie.
