I am writing to expre my view on the movie and muic piracy. Lat year, the Hong Kong Government convicted a peron of infringing copyright uccefully, who uploaded copyrighted movie to hi erver and allowed other uer to download them. For thi incident, I am highly diappointed of the Internet uer becaue they infringed the effort that the copyright owner paid. It i morally wrong to upload or download the piracy muic and video illegally. In addition, thi phenomenon mean the Hong Kong' intellectual property i being exploited. If thi phenomenon continue, it i believed that Hong Kong will not have good muic or video anymore.
According to a reearch from ome Univeritie in Hong Kong, it wa found that the different age group had different reaon of the download or upload the piracy muic or video. The reearch i pided into two age group to carry out, a group of teenager and a group of adult. The reearch found the reaon of mot teenager download or upload the piracy muic and video i that they lack of money and reource. On account of their proce of tudying, they undoubtedly lack of money and reource to purchae the expenive original CD or movie. Therefore, the only way they can enjoy the muic or video i to download them from the internet. And for the adult group, the reaon i convenient. Nowaday, downloading material from the internet i very convenient. In addition to the huge reource from the internet, the download time i jut for a moment. In thi changing ociety, many citizen are being turned into criminal imply becaue of the illegal uploading or downloading. A a conequence, the regulation need to be tightening up. And the Government need to trengthen the law enforcement to crack down on thi kind of Internet crime. For example, formulate new law to limit the illegal uploading or downloading behavior. Alo, the education i ignificant. No matter how trict the regulation i, if the tudent are lack of thi kind of knowledge, it will urely become a viciou cycle. The criminal will continuouly appear in the coming future.
To ummarie, if the Government till doen’t face to thi problem, the intellectual property will be diappeared in Hong Kong. All creativity companie will be cloed or moved to other countrie becaue of the illegal downloading or uploading. So, I earnetly requet the Hong Kong Government to olve thi problem immediately.
