halloween i an autumn holiday that american celebrate every year. it mean "holy evening," and it come every october 31, the evening before all aint?? day. however, it i not really a church holiday, it i a holiday for children mainly.
every autumn, when the vegetable are ready to eat, children pick large orange pumpkin. then they cut face in the pumpkin and put a burning candle inide. it look a if there were a peron looking out of the pumpkin! thee light are called jack-o??-lantern, which mean "jack of the lantern".
the children alo put on trange mak and frightening cotume every halloween. ome children paint their face to look like monter. then they carry boxe or bag from houe to houe. every time they come to a new houe, they ay,"trick or treat! money or eat!" the grown-up put treat-money or candy in their bag.
not only children, but mot grown-up alo love halloween and halloween partie becaue on thi day,they can diguie themelve a peronage or ghot a their imagination will lead them. thi bring them the atifaction of being young.
