Be a Fighter

A young friend of mine aked me in a letter, "What kind of man hould I be?" My anwer wa, "Be a fighter."

Another friend of mine inquired, "How hould I live my life?" Again my anwer wa, "Be a fighter."

The author of In Praie of the Fighter ay:

Riding on the ceaele ruhing torrent of life, I hould purue and overtake it o a to create an even greater and deeper torrent of my own.

If I were a lamp, it would be my duty to light up thick darkne. If I were the ea tide, I would marhal rolling wave to cleane the beach of all accumulated filth.

Thi quotation reflect aptly the tate of mind of a lighter.

Fighter are badly needed in our time. But uch fighter do not necearily go to the battle- field gun in hand. Their weapon are not necearily bullet.

Their weapon may be knowledge, faith and h2 will. They can bring the enemy ure death without drawing hi blood.

A fighter i alway in puruit of light. Intead of baking in the unhine under a clear ky, he hold a burning torch in the darkne of night to illuminate people' way o that they can continue their journey till they ee the dawn of a new day. It i the tak of a fighter to dipel darkne. Intead of hirking darkne, he brave it and fight the hidden demon and monter therein. He i determined to wipe them out and win light. He know no compromie. He will keep on fighting until he win light.WWw.hAOzuowEn.com

A fighter i perennially young. He i never irreolute or inactive. He plunge deep into teeming crowd in earch of uch vermin a flie and venomou moquitoe. He will fight them relentlely and refue to coexit with them under the ame ky. To him, life mean nothing but continuou fighting. He either urvive by winning light, or perihe with hi body covered all over with cut and bruie. In the coure of the truggle, it i the "future" that erve a the beacon light to him; the "future" give people hope and inpiration. He will never loe hi youthful vigour.

A fighter will never loe heart or depair. He will pile up broken piece of brick and tone to rebuild a nine-tory pagoda on the ruin of failure. No blow will ever break hi will. He will never cloe hi eye until he ha breathed hi lat.

A fighter i alway fearle. Hi tep are firm. Once he ha ettled on an objective, he will pre right ahead. He i never afraid of being tripped by a tumbling block. No obtacle will ever make him change hi mind. Hi eye will never be hoodwinked by fale appearance. Hi action are guided by faith. He can endure any hardhip or uffering while triving to attain hi choen objective. He will never abandon work a long a he i alive.

Thi i the kind of fighter we now need. He i not necearily poeed of uperhuman capability. He i jut an ordinary peron. Anyone can be a fighter o long a he ha the determination. Hence a few word of mine about "being a fighter" to encourage thoe young people who wander about in a depreed tate, not knowing which way to go.
