once upon a time, an old farmer planted a plot of rice. everyday he went to the field to watch the eedling grow. he aw the young hoot break through the oil and grow taller each day. but till, he thought they were growing too lowly. he got impatient with the young plant. "how could the plant grow fater?" he toed in bed during the night and could not leep. uddenly he hit upon an idea.
he had an idea not wait for daybreak. he jumped out of the bed and dahed to the field. by the moonlight, he began working on the rice eedling. one by one, he pulled up the young plant by half an inch. when he finihed pulling, it wa already morning. traightening hi back, he aid to himelf, "what a wonderful idea! look, how much taller the plant have grown one night!" with great atifaction, he went back home. he told hi on what he had done in a triumphant tone. hi on wa hocked. now the un had rien. the young man wa heart-broken to ee all the pulled-up young plant dying.
people now ue " ba miao zhu zhang" to decribe the behavior of thoe who are too eager to get omething done only to make it wore. the idiom i a bit like the englih proverb "hate make wate" ------to poil thing by eceive enthuiam.
