if i were a boy again, i would practice pereverance more often, and never give up a thing becaue it wa or inconvenient. if we want light, we mut conquer darkne. pereverance can ometime equal geniu in it reult. “there are only two creature,” ay a proverb, “who can urmount the pyramid—the eagle and the nail.”
if i were a boy again, i would chool myelf into a habit of attention; i would let nothing come between me and the ubject in hand. i would remember that a good kater never trie to kate in two direction at once.the habit of attention become part of our life, if we begin early enough. i often hear grown up people ay “ i could not fix my attention on the ermon or book, although i wihed to do o” , and the reaon i, the habit wa not formed in youth.
if i were to live my life over again, i would pay more attention to the cultivation of the memory. i would trengthen that faculty by every poible mean, and on every poible occaion. it take a little hard work at firt to remember thing accurately; but memory oon help itelf, and give very little trouble. it only need early cultivation to become a power.
