ome tudent are very good at learning englih pronunciation. they peak the language beautifully. other tudent, however, find it difficult to learn accurate englih pronunciation. what, then make the difference?
there are, in my opinion, four reaon that account for the difference. firt, and perhap the mot ignificant, wa the mother tongue. the cloer the tudent own language i to englih to tart, the greater the chance of achievement. econdly, the learner attitude to pronunciation make the difference. tudent who believe in the importance of pronunciation tend to make more progre.
thirdly, contacting with native peaker of the language ha trong poitive effect on pronunciation. fourthly, and poibly the leat important, wa the tudent own natural ability. agoodear and the ability to imitate help, but are far le ignificant than the other three factor.
we cant change the firt factor--the mother tongue--but we can control the econd and the third. therefore we can have coniderable influence over our own progre with pronunciation.
