lat unday i went to the city of wui. when i entered a tailor' hop, i found there were lot of people becaue there wa a fahion how①.uddenly i noticed that a middle-aged foreigner wa geticulating② to a alewoman and pointing to a new hirt. it wa clear that he wanted to buy the hirt, but he did not know the price, for he did not know chinee. and the alewoman did not know englih. though he wrote the price on the paper, he wa till puzzled.
when i aw thi, i went up to them. i aked the alewoman the price of the hirt firt and then i aid to the foreigner in englih, “one hundred and forty-eight yuan.” hearing thi he aid to me, “oh, thank you! but it too epenive. would you pleae ak her if he can make it cheaper? if he can , i will buy ten.” i told her what he aid , and he agreed. in the end the foreigner paid 1,200 yuan for ten hirt.
before he left, he gave me a nice pen. i thanked him and aid to him , “welcome to our city . good-bye!”
