对于英语作文的写作都离不开重要的三点信息：
1、作文核心内容；
2、写作用语和风格；
3、英语写作的语法。
一、内容
1、最重要的事情讲清楚
比如：你想讲述有关圣诞节的历史，就应该将此内容作为文章的重点。你想说的最重要的事是什么？如果已经说出来了，在草稿中找出这段话，并在句子下面划线。如果还没有说出来，现在就写。
2、文章里所写的每件事都同主旨相关吗？哪个部分你不需要？如果你写的是当你在银行实习时，意识到自己宁愿成为一名核物理学家，那么坐公交上班这段话就显得十分没有必要了。
3、你做到具体化了吗？如果发现自己只是泛泛而谈，那么就把一般变为具体。
4、你有没有思考并回答读者最想问的问题？
5、你的文章是否像你的人？有没有在陈述自己时过于正式？是不是过于随意？寻找一种适合主题的语调(乏味的语调会毁了一个好故事)。
6、文章中最令你满意的是什么？
7、文章中最令你不满的是什么？哪一部分还不对头？要使它和文章其他部分一样好，你能做什么？
二、用法和风格

2、你用没用主动语态和动作性很强的动词？
3、对句子的长度和结构进行过修改吗？
4、有没有用到描述性的词和比喻的手法？
5、是否避免了使用空洞的修饰语，如“very”，“rather”，“omewhat”等等？
6、如果使用了缩略语，它们是否和文章的风格统一？省略号的位置对不对？
三、语法
1、主语同动词单复数是否一致？
2、代词与先行词是否一致？
3、代词指代明确吗？(尤其要注意的是“thi”和“that”)
4、修饰词的位置是否靠近被修饰词？
5、有没有悬垂结构或放错位置的修饰语？
6、动词的形式同时态及语态一致吗？
7、有没有逗号重叠的情况？
8、有没有发现不完整的句子？
圣诞节作文范文：圣诞节历史
圣诞节是西方国家一年中最重要的庆祝活动之一。它在12月25日，就像中国的新年一样重要。庆祝耶稣基督诞生的，他是神的儿子基督。现在圣诞节不再只是为基督徒，大多数来自世界各地的人们。
在12月24日，每个人都很兴奋，因为圣诞节的前一天即平安夜。孩子们通常早睡，并被告诉说，“如果谁表现好，圣诞老人克劳斯就会给你一个礼物。”年轻的孩子们相信圣诞老人会坐在雪橇上，驯鹿拉的烟囱。当圣诞老人过来的时候，就要准备食物如短面包和啤酒，但大多时候都是父母要吃。一些孩子把袜子袋放上礼物（他们的父母放的）。
太阳照在圣诞节的早晨！孩子们总是第一个起床，甚至有些人在4点钟起床。礼物包到处都是！他们看到他们的礼物都面带微笑，哦，亲爱的…我希望没有人失望。对收到粉红色内衣的人我感到遗憾。当孩子们玩的时候大人就准备晚餐。圣诞晚餐通常是和亲戚一起吃。圣诞布丁和公鸡的传统，通常是吃甜点之后。剩余的时间通常都会做游戏和在玩中结束。
Chritma i one of the mot important celebration of the year for the wetern countrie. It fall on the twenty- fifth of December and ha the ame importance a Chinee New Year to people with Englih background. The celebration i for the birth of Jeu Chrit, who i the on of God in Chritianity. Now day Chritma i no longer only celebrated by the Chritian, but by mot people from all over the world.
On the twenty- fourth of December everyone get excited for it’ the day before Chritma which i called Chritma Eve. The children are uually ent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Clau will only come and give you a preent if you be good.” The younger kid actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the leigh that’ pulled by hi reindeer. Food like hort bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he come, however mot time parent jut eat them. Some children put ock and ack up for the holding of the preent (that their parent put in).
Rie and hine on Chritma morning! The children are alway the firt one to wake up, ome even do at four. Preent wrapper everywhere! They look into their preent with a big mile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’ diappointed. I feel orry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner i prepared by the adult. The Chritma dinner are uually eaten together by relative. The tradition of Chritma pudding and rooter are uually eaten with deert afterward. The ret of the day i uually game and fun before the good day all come to an end.
