关于清明节还有一个感人的由来。传说晋文公重耳在逃亡中，一天饿昏了，他的随从介子推毫不犹豫地把自己大腿上的肉割下来烤着给晋文公重耳吃。晋文公重耳执政后，重赏那些有功之臣，却忘了赏介子推。有人提醒说也应赏介子推。晋文公重耳带着大臣去赏介子推，谁知介子推已经带着老母亲躲在绵山上，有人提出烧山，因为介子推那么孝顺，一定会带着母亲出来的。大火烧了三天三夜，大火熄灭晋文公重耳和随从上山去看，只看老母亲和介子推在一棵大柳树上烧死了。晋文公重耳非常伤心，下令从此以后不动烟火，只吃冷食。所以这一天叫寒食节，又叫清明节。
