The Lantern Fetival or Yuanxiao Jie i a traditional Chinee fetival, which i on the 15th of the firt month of the Chinee New Year. The fetival mark the end of the celebration of the Chinee New Year.
Chinee tarted to celebrate the Lantern Fetival from the Han Dynaty . Like mot other Chinee fetival, there i alo a tory behind the Fetival. It i alo believed that the fetival ha Taoit origin.
Thi i a fetival for people having fun. On the night of the fetival, people go on treet with a variety of lantern under the full moon, watching lion or dragon dancing, playing Chinee riddle and game, and lighting up firecracker. There i really a lot of fun for the young and the old.
Yuanxiao (glutinou rice ball) or Tangyuan i the pecial food for the Lantern Fetival. It i believed that Yuanxiao i named after a palace maid, Yuanxiao, of Emperor Wu Di of the Han Dynaty. Yuanxiao i a kind of weet dumpling, which i made with ticky rice flour filled with weet tuffing.
Yuanxiao i ticky, weet and round in hape, ymbolizing family unity, completene and happine.
